About
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.”
Marianne Williamson
Mission
Real Life Annie was established to provide resources and a framework that helps foster youth with daily challenges they face in the foster care system and struggles they will face as they transition into society.
Any youth can successfully transition into society with the right resources!
The purpose of this website is to provide a helpline for children who have been in the foster care system and are at the point in their lives to make their transition into society. The legal term for this is known as "aging out" of the system. Unless a child is reunited or adopted by another family, a foster child will remain in the system until they reach the state’s mandated legal age (usually eighteen). At that point the youth must figure out their options, but most of the choices do not involve the support of the foster care system. The purpose of this website is to help guide these youths to paths that will help negate the statistical data surrounding foster youth, such as becoming criminal delinquents and having negative life outcomes.
